Play as craft and calling.

Bern’s Big Adventure is in constant collaboration with the universe to provide playful solutions to life’s dullest problems.

Artist, facilitator, play advocate.

I’m Bernie, a Kansas-based creative professional and play-worker dedicated to designing meaningful experiences—for brands, communities, & curious humans.

My work lives at the intersection of imagination & intention, where human-centered design meets the transformative power of play.

Whether I’m building visual identities, crafting stories, or facilitating child-led play environments, my focus is the same: creating spaces where curiosity thrives.

Creative Interventions

I collaborate with individuals, organizations, and community-centered businesses to create thoughtful, expressive work & experiences.

Human-centered Design

Authenticity & genuine connection, visually.

Meaningful brand work centers your business’ morals and gives you a vivid language to speak up and stand out in an over-saturated market.

I can help you communicate your values clearly, attract the right people, and make a lasting impression that feels true to who you are.

Each project begins with listening and evolves into visuals that feel cohesive, expressive, and distinctly yours. From hand-drawn illustration to refined brand systems, I create work that communicates meaning while leaving room for curiosity and character.

Play-work & Facilitation

Play is serious work.

Play-workers create supportive environments where little humans can engage in freely chosen, self-directed play. I have been trained to hold space—to observe, respond, and protect the integrity of the process while encouraging self-confidence, emotional awareness, & complex problem-solving.

Play & creativity are not luxuries; they are essential to individual and collective well-being.

Process Art Exploration

Process over product, presence over performance.

I offer process art and sensory play experiences designed to honor curiosity, autonomy, & embodied learning. These are open invitations to explore materials freely—the focus is on what is discovered, not what is made.

Immersive sensory environments can use materials such as: loose parts, natural elements, textured mediums, light & shadow, found materials, & Aromadoh, my handcrafted aromatherapeutic playdough.

These experiences support: nervous system regulation, fine & gross motor development, language expansion, cooperative play, sustained focus & social emotional skills.

Let’s Work Together

If you’re interested in building environments, experiences, or stories rooted in imagination and care, I’d love to connect.
